    George Carey's fundraiser for Place2Be.

One in five children and young people now have a diagnosable mental health issue. That’s six children in every classroom with a condition like depression or anxiety.

Place2Be is the UK's leading school-based mental health charity, providing support to children, families and school-based staff when they need it most.

Please help us support Place2Be’s vital work, and together we can make a real difference to children's mental health and ensure that children don’t have to face mental health problems alone.

Friday 9th February 2024 will be 'Express yourself day'. Children can come to school in their non-uniform.

Y4 and Y5 writing sentences workshop

    Dear Parents and Carers,

As part of our ongoing parental engagement, we have organised a Y4 and Y5 writing workshop, where you will learn how you can further support your child’s sentence writing skills. The activities demonstrated aim to boost your child’s confidence with their understanding of both grammar and punctuation and prepare them for the next stage in their learning. We will work together so that you will have an understanding of how best you can support your child with this essential life skill.

There will be a session on Tuesday 23rd January 2024 at 9.15am.

The workshop will be presented by Miss Woolley, who is the English lead at our school. Other members of teaching staff will also be on hand to support you and discuss the writing approaches that we use at George Carey Primary School.

If you are interested, please fill in the slip below. Please note that spaces are limited so we will operate on a first come, first served basis.

Please sign up using Parent Pay by Friday 19th January 2024 - no responses will be accepted thereafter.

    Kind regards

    Miss Woolley

    Senior teacher/English Lead
