Lunch Menus

In Spring 2014 the school kitchen received a Bronze Catering Mark from the ‘Food for Life’ organisation. This award was achieved by proving that the meals offered are nutritious and prepared healthily. Kitchen staff are currently working towards the silver award. School meals cost £2.10 per day. They are high quality, nutritious means and represent good value for money. We provide Halal and vegetarian options which are prepared separately. Menus are available from the school office or on the Barking and Dagenham Website.

Free School Meals

If you are entitled to free school meals, please ask for an application form from the school office and/or visit the One Stop Shop in Barking. Free school meals are for parents/carers that are on certain benefits. Please bring a copy of the receipt you are given by the One Stop Shop to the school office as soon as possible to ensure your child receives a free school meal.

The school receives additional resources for every child registered as eligible for free school meals. This means that it is beneficial for parents to apply for free school meals even if they do not want their child to receive them. If you think you may be entitled to free school meals for your child please talk to the school office for advice

FSM UNIVERSAL KEY STAGE 1 PROVISION

The Government initiative started in September 2014 specifies that every child in reception, year 1 and year 2 will receive a free school meal, however, for the school to receive the additional funding for your child’s education, it is important to still apply for this entitlement. If you think you may be entitled to a free school meal for your child then please talk to the school for advice or/and an application form. It is beneficial to your child and the school.

We are a cashless catering school and will not be taking school dinner money on site. You will receive a personal letter from ParentPay through your child explaining how to access your own account. You will be able to set up an account with your own user name and password and be able to conveniently pay for meals online or at any shop displaying the PayPoint sign. Parents without a ParentPay letter will need to approach the school office. It is important that you keep your ParentPay account in credit. If you are in £2 credit, you will receive a reminder from the school office. If your account falls £2 in debt or more, we will no longer be able to provide meals for your child.

Packed lunch

If you would prefer to send your child in with a packed lunch, please take a look at the list of healthy foods that the school allows your child to bring in (available from the school office). We ask that you do not put any kind of foods containing nuts as we do have children with allergies and these can be dangerous to them. Also please do not provide fizzy drinks, fast food, crisps or chocolate bars/biscuits etc. within the packed lunch.
