Our Learning
🌟 Nursery – All About Me & Settling In
This term, our Nursery children are beginning an exciting journey of settling in, making friends and becoming confident in their new environment. Through our ‘All About Me’ topic, the children will learn about themselves, their families and the people who are special to them. We will celebrate what makes each child unique and special, helping everyone to develop a strong sense of belonging within our Nursery family.
The children will build their confidence, independence and communication skills through stories, songs, rhymes, conversations and imaginative role play. They will begin exploring early maths, including numbers and counting, through fun, practical activities and everyday play.
There will be lots of opportunities to develop fine and gross motor skills through mark-making, creative activities, construction, movement games and outdoor play. Children will also explore growth, healthy lifestyles and how we can look after ourselves and others.
In RE, we will begin learning about special people, celebrations and beliefs, encouraging children to be curious and respectful of the people and world around them.
Throughout the term, children will enjoy creative art, sensory exploration, den building, puppet play, junk modelling and simple investigations. Most importantly, our focus will be on helping every child to feel happy, safe, valued and confident, so they are ready to explore, play, make friends and develop a lifelong love of learning.
