Teacher's strike Wednesday 15th March and Thursday 16th March 2023
Re: Important Information letter for all parents and carers: NEU Industrial/Strike Action
Dear Parents and Carers
I write to inform you that staff who are members of the National Education Union (NEU) have voted to take strike action. The majority of teachers within the Borough belong to the NEU trade union.
NEU members have voted for industrial action on:
- 15th and 16th March 2023
This strike is in support of opposition to the National Pay Award and the impact of the rises on school budgets.
As before, we are attempting keep the school open for some pupils, however, we are very aware of the health and safety risks for pupils where there are very few teachers present.
Parents/Carers will need to make alternative arrangements for the care of their child/children on these days. We have decided to open the school on this day for selected vulnerable pupils and also for the children of key workers only. Please complete the slip below if you are a key worker (Education and Medical only) even if you completed it last time. Please provide proof of key worker status (you don’t need to if you provided this information last time).
We will contact families individually where the child may be a vulnerable learner and it is safe to bring them into school. Please complete the form below if you are a key worker and would like your child to attend school on the strike days.
